Conferences
On Monday, 1 December 2025, from 11:00 to 13:00, the conference "La tutela del patrimonio culturale negli Stati di emergenza tra Occidente e Oriente" will take place with welcoming remarks by Prof. Felice Casucci, followed by the introduction by Prof. Emma A. Imparato. The session will be chaired by Prof. Pier Luigi Petrillo (UNESCO Chair Professor on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Comparative Law – Università Unitelma Sapienza). Following the introduction, there will be presentations from international and national experts addressing the protection of cultural heritage in emergency contexts, with a focus on inter-systemic cooperation, legal instruments, and governance challenges in situations of crisis or conflict. Among them:
– Dr. Clizia Franceschini (Europa-Universität Viadrina, Alexander von Humboldt programme): “Religious cultural heritage and UNESCO nomination procedures: between lack of neutrality, political conflicts, and unresolved issues.”
– Dr. Giacomo Giorgini Pignatiello (University of Naples “L’Orientale”): “Between authority and identity: the protection of cultural heritage in Asian legal systems during States of emergency.”
